Grow your business – Town Planning, what you need to know
How does town planning impact on the day-to-day running of your businesses?
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises are the backbone of our local economy in Gibraltar, with entrepreneurs acting as a catalyst for innovation, necessary to achieve a dynamic business community and create an environment for thriving entrepreneurship and SMEs.
The upcoming talk, which will be led by Planning Vision, an independent local Town Planning consultancy will explore the significant impact that town planning policy and practice have upon local businesses and entrepreneurs, which manifest itself through various day-to-day struggles, ranging from competing for floor space with residential uses, lack of range of sizes and types of suitable, flexible workspace premises, timeframe for processing of planning applications, lack of initiatives, incentives and sufficient funding required to facilitate regeneration initiatives and improvements to premises and external areas, such as shop fronts, or public realm improvements, availability/allocation of employment land and the ability of Gibraltar to accommodate holistic growth.
