In 2018 WIB obtained legal advice on our single gender status as it was evident that we were unable to reach increased membership numbers from corporate organisation’s due to their equality policy rules and that, together with sustainability issues, called for transformational change to the network.
Following an Extraordinary General Meeting in December 2018 the membership supported collaborative discussions with the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses (GFSB) with a view to uniting with that network going forward.
In February 2019 five WIB members became Board members of the GFSB, 50/50 Board representation. Work is ongoing to rebrand WIB and unite with GFSB later this year subject to key constitutional changes being accepted through the WIB & GFSB memberships.
